Thank you for being a part of the NMPolitics.net community. Without you this site wouldn’t exist.
Six years ago today I started this news website as little blog called Heath Haussamen on New Mexico Politics.
It’s grown into a site that focuses less on local issues in Doña Ana County (though I still try) and more on state political and government issues, and national issues from a New Mexico viewpoint.
And the site has grown. In February it had almost 22,000 unique visitors and more than 122,000 page views.
The recent recognition from Politico and Columbia Journalism Review, frankly, makes me a little uncomfortable – I’ve never been one to seek out that type of attention – but it’s gratifying.
More importantly, I remain humbled that so many people get news and information from NMPolitics.net and participate in the discussion with us on this site and on Facebook and Twitter. Thank you for being a part of the NMPolitics.net community! Without you this site wouldn’t exist.
If you want to expand your involvement with NMPolitics.net, there’s lots you can do:

- Submit a commentary for possible publication.
- Provide feedback. You can e-mail me at heath@haussamen.com.
Once again, thanks for letting me run this site. I love what I do, and it’s you who lets me do it!
