NMPolitics.net sends a monthly newsletter to qualifying donors that contains political analysis you can’t get anywhere else. Make a qualifying donation today and start getting the newsletter!
A year ago I wrote that Lt. Gov. John Sanchez might have a difficult time in the U.S. Senate race and suggested that his best move might be staying put and playing second fiddle to a governor who doesn’t particularly want a second fiddle.
Sanchez recently came to the same conclusion and dropped out of the Senate race.
In June, I wrote about the unique situation in New Mexico – a rare state in which the Democratic president and GOP governor are both reasonably well-liked – and analyzed the reasons for Gov. Susana Martinez’s popularity as other Republican governors were struggling.
In August, I was the first to analyze the candidacy of Democratic 1st Congressional District hopeful Eric Griego and conclude he should be taken seriously even though some initially doubted his credibility. And last month, I wrote about state legislative incumbents I expect to face difficult re-election battles this year.
All of that analysis came in the monthly NMPolitics.net e-mail newsletter that goes exclusively to donors who give one-time contributions of at least $120 or sign up to make monthly contributions of $10 or $20. You can join that list by making a qualifying donation at nmpolitics.net/contribute.
This month’s newsletter, which goes out in the next couple of days, will analyze recent polling and how Democrats can knock a few points off Martinez’s popularity.
NMPolitics.net reaches 34 percent of fundraising goal
Almost everything I write is published on the NMPolitics.net website and available for free. The monthly analysis that goes exclusively to qualifying donors is part of the funding plan that keeps the rest of NMPolitics.net’s content free.
We’re currently in the middle of this year’s fundraising drive. NMPolitics.net has thus far raised $6,095, or 34 percent of its goal of bringing in $18,000 by April 30.
You can give a one-time contribution in any amount, or you can sign up to have your credit or debit card automatically charged $10 or $20 each month with the ability to cancel at any time. Even if you can’t afford to give at a level that qualifies you for the newsletter, your donation of any amount will help sustain and hopefully grow NMPolitics.net. This year I’m trying to raise enough to hire a reporter to expand NMPolitics.net’s coverage.
Again, you can make a donation at nmpolitics.net/contribute.
Your contribution will be publicly listed along with others on NMPolitics.net. It’s not tax-deductible. Click here to read NMPolitics.net’s entire financial contributor policy.
I appreciate the support of everyone who has given thus far. I hope the rest of you will make donations today! Thanks!
