Thanks to the support of many, NMPolitics.net has raised $3,820 toward its goal of raising $18,000 by April 30. As more newspapers charge for access to their websites, NMPolitics.net needs your help to keep its content free, and to grow. Make a donation today!
The Albuquerque Journal charges $8 per month for access to its website. The Las Cruces Sun-News, Farmington Daily Times, Carlsbad Current Argus, Alamogordo Daily News, Silver City Sun-News and Deming Headlight charge $5.99 per month, or $59.99 per year. The New York Times charges $15 per month following a promotional period.
NMPolitics.net, on the other hand, is working hard to keep its content free. But to sustain and hopefully grow the site, that means I need help from those of you who can afford to make donations.
Without your voluntary financial contributions, NMPolitics.net would not exist.
As of this morning, NMPolitics.net has raised $3,820, or 21 percent of the year’s fundraising goal of $18,000, which I’m trying to reach by April 30. As I’ve written, if I reach that goal I plan to hire a reporter to expand our coverage of politics and government.
If you can afford to do so, make a donation today at nmpolitics.net/contribute.
Subscribing to the Sun-News and other newspapers in that chain will cost you $60 a year. Subscribing to the Journal will cost you $96 a year. Even a $10, $25 or $50 contribution helps NMPolitics.net.
I welcome larger donations as well! Allen Stenger of Alamogordo donated $250 to NMPolitics.net earlier this month.
“It’s important to have a variety of news sources, and some of the best ones are small, specialized outlets such as NMPolitics.net,” he said. “I support several such small operations with annual financial contributions to help them stay in business and supply me with reliable news.”
