Susana Martinez
Republican gubernatorial candidate Susana Martinez is leading in GOP stronghold Chaves County, in addition to having leads in Bernalillo and San Juan Counties.
Martinez currently has 1,063 votes, or 54.54 percent, to Allen Weh’s 632 votes, or 32.43 percent, in Chaves County. Pete Domenici Jr. has 6.41 percent, Doug Turner has 5.13 percent, and Janice Arnold Jones has 1.49 percent.
“The early returns are coming in as we expected and we remain cautiously optimistic,” a statement from the Martinez campaign said.
In Chaves County, Brian Colón leads in the Democratic lieutenant governor’s race. Ray Powell leads in the Democratic land commissioner race. John Sanchez leads in the Republican lieutenant governor’s race. Matt Rush leads in the Republican land commissioner race. Linda Vanzi leads in the Democratic appeals judge primary.
