Bill Richardson should be the Democrats\u2019 2008 presidential nominee.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In a posting on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"\">Huffington Post<\/span><\/a> headlined, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/russell-shaw\/enough-with-obama-already_b_36378.html\" target=\"_blank\"><span style=\"\">\u201cEnough with Obama already: We\u2019re electing a president, not a personality,\u201d<\/span><\/a> Russell Shaw wrote that Sen. Barack Obama lacks the experience to be president.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, on the other hand, \u201cdoes have the experience,\u201d Shaw wrote. \u201cValuable gubernatorial executive experience running a growing and complex state? Right where he is. Valuable national executive experience? Was Energy Department secretary under <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>. International diplomatic experience? Was the U.S. Ambassador to the U.N. During his 14 years as a Congressperson, (as compared to Sen. Obama\u2019s two years), he garnered significant foreign policy knowledge.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cAnd if we must look for ethnic cachet? Half Latino, fluent in Spanish with a father of Mexican extraction born in <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Guatemala<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>, he\u2019s got plenty of that,\u201d he wrote. \u201cWhen <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> needed someone to talk to Fidel Castro, it was Richardson who he sent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Shaw wrote that <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>, if elected, should give Obama a cabinet-level position.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cAlready well traveled on official missions in much of the world, Obama could be secretary of state and a damn good one. That would be a perfect burnish on a record of experience he could campaign on in 2012. Or 2016,\u201d he wrote. \u201cBut not in 2008.
