Bill Richardson in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:City><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>\u2019s office announced today that a North Korean delegation will visit Friday to discuss the upcoming multi-lateral talks about its nuclear weapons program. The North Koreans asked for the meeting, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>\u2019s office said in a news release.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The U.S. State Department has granted two North Korean diplomats permission to travel to <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Santa   Fe<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWhile I will not be acting as an official representative of the administration, I am pleased to do whatever I can to help increase understanding between our two countries and help move the six-party talks forward,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> said.  \u201cI believe we have an opportunity to use diplomacy to end this crisis and bring stability to the <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Korean<\/st1:PlaceName>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Peninsula<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>. I will press the North Koreans to start dismantling their nuclear weapons.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The North Korean delegation will arrive in <st1:state st=\"on\">New  Mexico<\/st1:State> Friday morning and meet with <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> in the afternoon at the governor\u2019s mansion.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:City> has dealt extensively with <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">North Korea<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> during his career in public office.  He has traveled to <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">North Korea<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> five times, most recently in October 2005. This will be the second North Korean delegation to travel to <st1:city st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:City> to meet with <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City>. The first visit took place shortly after the governor took office in January 2003. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> has recently been at odds with the Bush Administration over how to deal with the North Koreans. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A North Korean delegation is coming once again to visit Gov.
