Bill Richardson has appointed Democrat Kent Wingenroth to replace Carlos Garza on the <st1:street st=\"on\"><st1:address st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a   Ana County Magistrate Court<\/st1:address><\/st1:Street>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> made the announcement earlier today that he has appointed Wingenroth, a retired New Mexico State Police officer, to the bench.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cIt\u2019s a pretty big honor,\u201d Wingenroth said, adding that he was full of \u201cexcitement about being appointed and excitement about working with the people again, like I did as a state police officer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Wingenroth has lived in <st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:PlaceName> since 1981 and holds a criminal justice degree from <st1:placename st=\"on\">York<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">College<\/st1:PlaceType> in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">York<\/st1:City>, <st1:state st=\"on\">Penn.<\/st1:State><\/st1:place> He is a 1981 graduate of the <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">State<\/st1:PlaceType> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Police<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">Academy<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> and retired as a senior patrol officer in 2001. He was awarded officer of the year honors by the state police three times.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Since 2002, Wingenroth has worked as a federal court security officer with AKAL Security. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cKent Wingenroth\u2019s commitment to the law and the people of <st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:PlaceName> is unquestionable,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> said in a news release. \u201c<st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Kent<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>\u2019s more than 20 years\u2019 experience in law enforcement will give him the skills to make an excellent magistrate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Garza was removed from the bench last month by the New Mexico Supreme Court after the Judicial Standards Commission found that he had used illegal drugs and improperly involved himself the court issues of a woman with whom he had a personal relationship. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
