{"id":9818,"date":"2009-12-01T09:42:46","date_gmt":"2009-12-01T16:42:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=9818"},"modified":"2009-12-01T09:43:20","modified_gmt":"2009-12-01T16:43:20","slug":"turner-trots-out-his-own-endorsements","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/12\/turner-trots-out-his-own-endorsements\/","title":{"rendered":"Turner trots out his own endorsements"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_9546\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 325px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-9546 \" title=\"Turner2\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Turner2.jpg\" alt=\"Doug Turner\" width=\"325\" height=\"247\" srcset=\"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Turner2.jpg 325w, https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2009\/11\/Turner2-300x228.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 325px) 100vw, 325px\" \/><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">Doug Turner (Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>Republican gubernatorial candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/susanamartinez2010.com\/\">Susana Martinez<\/a> has been trotting out a lot of endorsements from state legislators recently, but in the last few days, one of her opponents has unveiled a couple of significant endorsements of his own.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/turnerforgovernor.com\/\">Doug Turner<\/a> has announced the support of two former cabinet secretaries who served in the administration of New Mexico\u2019s last Republican governor, <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Gary_E._Johnson\">Gary Johnson<\/a> \u2013 former Economic Development Secretary John Garcia and Health and Human Services Secretary Robin Dozier Otten.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNew Mexico needs the kind of leadership and vision to turn the state around,\u201d Garcia said in a news release from the Turner campaign. \u201cDoug Turner knows what it takes to get high-wage jobs to our state.\u00a0As governor, Doug Turner will create a better business climate for our future prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Otten said Turner \u201chas the experience and insight to fix our stressed\u00a0social services system.\u00a0As governor, he will improve our children\u2019s opportunities for success in life.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA Turner administration will ensure that our public schools provide our kids with the quality education they\u2019ll need to succeed, whether as employers or employees, in a competitive world,\u201d Otten said.<\/p>\n<p>Turner was state director for Johnson\u2019s\u00a0first campaign in 1994 and manager of his re-election campaign in 1998.
