Smith, who&#8217;s facing Philip VanVeen on today&#8217;s\u00a0ballot, posted <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/gregoryzsmith4council\/photos\/a.151834064891620.37626.142890359119324\/935447543196931\/?type=3&amp;theater\" target=\"_blank\">on Facebook<\/a> that he was the 12th voter at the Frank O&#8217;Brien Papen Center on the city&#8217;s south side. &#8220;Voted!!!&#8221; Smith posted at about 7:40 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>Barbara Alvarez also voted at the Papen Center shortly before 8 a.m.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;There were a few people in front of me and three or four came in after me, so it was a little busier,&#8221; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/haussamen\/posts\/10100934980583701?comment_id=10100935082913631&amp;offset=0&amp;total_comments=1&amp;comment_tracking=%7B%22tn%22%3A%22R%22%7D\" target=\"_blank\">Alvarez said<\/a>. &#8220;Very fast voting!&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Steve Monta\u00f1o reported higher interest at the\u00a0Do\u00f1a Ana County Government Center on the city&#8217;s west side.
