She started in <st1:city st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:city> in 1969 as a teacher, and ended her career in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Idaho<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> as director of instruction for the Lewiston Public Schools.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWith my experience, I can offer leadership that will include using common sense, communication clarity and problem solving with all stakeholders,\u201d Votaw said in a news release. \u201cI also plan to create greater transparency between the board, community and school staff.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Votaw pledged a superintendent search, if elected, \u201cthat includes stakeholder input, thorough reference checks and specific questions about how to improve the academic achievement for our students.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The district 4 and 5 seats are up for grabs on Feb. 6. In addition to Votaw, former board Member Larry Garcia has announced he will run for the seat.
