Party Chair John Wertheim said he may ask for a hand tally of 2 percent of ballots to test the accuracy of the machines that count votes under the new paper ballot system.<\/p>\n<p>Madrid, 60, leaves office as the state\u2019s attorney general at the end of the year, but there is speculation that she could make a run for U.S. Senate in 2008 or governor in 2010.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Update, 12:10 p.m.<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Madrid essentially told reporters they\u2019ll see her name on the ticket for a statewide race in the future, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqtrib.com\/news\/2006\/nov\/21\/madrid-concedes-race-congressional-district-1\/\" target=\"_blank\">Associated Press<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Asked what seat she\u2019ll consider seeking, Madrid had this to say: \u201cYou all are in politics.
