Attorney General Hector Balderas will join his staff in Las Cruces on Thursday for a training on the state’s sunshine laws.<\/p>\n

The course\u00a0on the state’s Open Meetings Act<\/a> (OMA) and Inspection of Public Records Act<\/a> (IPRA) is free and “designed to help government agencies and municipalities better understand the requirements” of the state laws, according to a news release. The public is also invited to attend and learn more about the transparency that New Mexico\u00a0laws require from local and state government agencies.<\/p>\n

Balderas has already held several sunshine-law trainings around the state, as have previous attorneys general in New Mexico.<\/p>\n

The Las Cruces training will be held from 9 a.m. to noon Thursday at the Farm and Ranch Heritage Museum, 4100 Dripping Springs Road<\/a>.
