Bill Richardson turns 59 today, and he has a lot to celebrate this year.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He just won re-election with almost 69 percent of the vote \u2013 by far the greatest gubernatorial victory in the history of the state.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The majority of New Mexicans believe he is ethical despite controversies that have colored his tenure as governor.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">His party recaptured last week the U.S. House, Senate and the majority of the nation\u2019s governorships, and he had a hand in making it happen.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He\u2019s on the short list of Democrats who will likely run for president in 2008. He plans to make an announcement in January.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I\u2019ve criticized the governor for many actions, but the reality is that <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> loves him. Today, I\u2019ll pause long enough to wish him happy birthday.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">I think I just did. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
