The Las Cruces Sun-News<\/a> profiled earlier today one of three city council races on the ballot in the Nov. 3 election.<\/p>\n Discussion in the District 3 race between incumbent Dolores Archuleta<\/a> and challenger Olga Pedroza<\/a> has centered primarily on the economy and neighborhood improvements, the newspaper reported.<\/p>\n From the newspaper:<\/p>\n \u201cArchuleta, 76, said roads and road-related issues are at the top of her priority list. Her first priority is \u2018the much-needed extension of Madrid, east under the Interstate (25) to Telshor,\u2019 said Archuleta, whose district includes the neighborhoods near Conlee Elementary and Lynn Middle schools, and a portion of east Las Cruces between Spruce and Madrid avenues.<\/p>\n \u201c\u2026 Pedroza, 67, said if she is elected her top three priorities will be to: \u2018attract green business to the city, attract funding for training of workers for new green businesses, and to increase access to and use of alternative energy sources in the city.\u2019\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
