Kokesh had set a goal of raising $100,000 to \u201cclear the field\u201d in the primary, and announced days ago that <a href=\"..\/2009\/10\/kokesh-says-he-has-raised-more-than-100k\/\">he met that goal<\/a>, but he\u2019ll apparently have an opponent anyway.<\/p>\n<p>Mullins will make a formal announcement on Saturday at 9:15 a.m. in the rotunda at <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?q=35.682404,-105.940246&amp;num=1&amp;sll=35.715282,-105.9603&amp;sspn=0.099642,0.054001&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;hq=&amp;hnear=401-499+Don+Gaspar+Ave,+Santa+Fe,+New+Mexico+87501&amp;ll=35.682435,-105.940258&amp;spn=0.001488,0.001837&amp;z=19&amp;iwloc=A\">the Roundhouse<\/a> in Santa Fe, then will hold a \u201ckickoff petition signing announcement event\u201d at <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;source=s_q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=farmington+civic+center,+farmington,+nm&amp;sll=35.682435,-105.940258&amp;sspn=0.001488,0.001837&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;hq=farmington+civic+center,&amp;hnear=Farmington,+NM&amp;z=15&amp;iwloc=A\">the civic center<\/a> in Farmington at 3:30 p.m., according to a news release announcing his candidacy.<\/p>\n<p>From Mullins\u2019 news release:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cMullins, a political newcomer, a professional engineer, small business owner, resident of Farmington for over 18 years, and father of two, has announced he will join the race as a Republican.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMullins believes that we are all called to serve our country in different ways and at different times in our lives and is prepared to serve the citizens of New Mexico in the 3rd Congressional District.
