Search this database"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I recently called\u00a0(<a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2015\/07\/many-nonprofits-arent-in-a-hurry-to-reveal-donors\/\" target=\"_blank\">with little response<\/a>) for nonprofits involved in politics in New Mexico to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2015\/06\/nm-nonprofits-disclose-your-donors-get-recognition\/\" target=\"_blank\">disclose information about their donors<\/a>. So, maybe that&#8217;s not going to happen. You can find lots of interesting financial\u00a0information there.<\/p>\n<p>For example, many of you have recently mentioned the Rio Grande Foundation in NMPolitics.net&#8217;s Facebook conversations.\u00a0You can find that nonprofit&#8217;s\u00a0tax returns <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/850468446\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Others some of you have mentioned include <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/850348301\" target=\"_blank\">New Mexico Voices for Children<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/273310051\" target=\"_blank\">N.M. Communidades en Acci\u00f3n y de F\u00e9.<\/a>\u00a0They&#8217;re\u00a0in the database. Click on their names to find their returns.<\/p>\n<p>I can&#8217;t find the Southern New Mexico Business Coalition, which I&#8217;ve written about, but it&#8217;s relatively new and the database currently includes tax returns only through 2013.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"module align-left half type-aside\">\n<h3>Search the database<\/h3>\n<p>You can search <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/?utm_source=et&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_campaign=dailynewsletter&amp;utm_content=&amp;utm_name=\" target=\"_blank\">ProPublica&#8217;s database<\/a>.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>There&#8217;s other interesting info in the database. If you look at the <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/\" target=\"_blank\">state comparison<\/a> of nonprofits you&#8217;ll see that New Mexico has a smaller nonprofit sector than most states. The largest nonprofit organization in New Mexico is <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/organizations\/850105601\" target=\"_blank\">Presbyterian Healthcare Services<\/a>, with revenue in 2013 of $1.4 billion.<\/p>\n<p>You can also browse <a href=\"https:\/\/projects.propublica.org\/nonprofits\/search?utf8=%E2%9C%93&amp;q=&amp;state%5Bid%5D=NM&amp;ntee%5Bid%5D=&amp;c_code%5Bid%5D=\" target=\"_blank\">all New Mexico nonprofits<\/a> in the database.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>ProPublica created a database of more than 1.8 million tax returns from nonprofits nationwide.
