Knell)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>It appears that voters in Albuquerque have elected their first Republican mayor since 1985.<\/p>\n<p>With 174 of 186 precincts reporting, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.berryformayor.com\/\">Richard Berry<\/a> has increased his lead. He has 32,900 votes, or 43.27 percent. Incumbent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.martychavez.com\/\">Martin Ch\u00e1vez<\/a> has 26,749 votes, or 35.18 percent. <a href=\"http:\/\/richardromeroformayor.com\/\">Richard Romero<\/a> was long ago out of the race and currently has 16,253 votes, or 21.37 percent.<\/p>\n<p>Ch\u00e1vez didn\u2019t concede the race, but he told supporters it \u201cdoesn\u2019t look good for our side\u201d and scheduled a Wednesday lunch with Berry, the <a href=\"http:\/\/newmexicoindependent.com\/38630\/abq-elections-citing-trends-chavez-admits-its-all-but-over\">New Mexico Independent<\/a> is reporting.<\/p>\n<p>Berry, meanwhile, was quoted by the Independent as saying, \u201cThe numbers are looking good right now.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Assuming Berry holds on to win, he will take office on Dec. 10.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>It appears that voters in Albuquerque have elected their first Republican mayor since 1985.
