More than half of the 17,300 visitors to NMPolitics.net\u2019s website in July came from Facebook.<\/p>\n

That statistic, along with the fantastic discussions we\u2019ve been having \u2013 some of which I\u2019ve turned into news articles<\/a> \u2013 are a strong indication that our efforts to do journalism that informs and engages people are working.<\/p>\n

You all are engaging, and our discussions have been respectful and productive. I often say NMPolitics.net is aiming to facilitate bridge-building conversations.<\/p>\n

Thus far, I believe together we\u2019re succeeding.<\/p>\n

In June NMPolitics.net had about 11,000 unique visitors<\/a>, so the site experienced a significant increase \u2013 more than 6,000 additional visitors \u2013 in July.<\/p>\n

The most-read article in July was a commentary by a Hobbs resident about that city manager\u2019s contract<\/a>. It had almost 4,300 page views, which tells me there\u2019s a real hunger for watchdogging of local government there.<\/p>\n
