Sorg in the District 5 race.<\/p>\n<p>Sorg said in an interview that he \u201chas the experience\u201d to help out the progressive majority on the council. He added that he has \u201ca positive outlook on what they\u2019re doing, and I\u2019d like to continue helping them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Jones, who has been pounding the pavement in the neighborhoods in District 5, is asking his constituents about the needs of the district and issues such as implementing a quality of life tax.<\/p>\n<p>There are now seven candidates running for three city council seats and a municipal judgeship in the Las Cruces municipal election.<\/p>\n<p>In the District 3 city council race, Mayor Pro-Tem <a href=\"http:\/\/www.las-cruces.org\/council\/district3.shtm\">Dolores C. Archuleta<\/a> is being challenged by <a href=\"http:\/\/olgapedroza.org\/\">Olga Pedroza<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>In the District 6 race, Councilor <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sharonthomasforcitycouncil.org\/\">Sharon K. Thomas<\/a> will be challenged by James W. Harbison.<\/p>\n<p>Municipal Judge James T. Locatelli will run unopposed.<\/p>\n<p><em>Nisbett is a part-time reporter for this site.
