Like Montoya, former state Attorney General <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Patricia_Madrid\" target=\"_blank\">Patricia Madrid<\/a> has said she\u2019s thinking about running.<\/p>\n<p>On the Republican side, GOP activist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.imbackingbob.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bob Cornelius<\/a> and retired law-enforcement agent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.erroljchavez.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Errol Chavez<\/a> are running.<\/p>\n<p>They\u2019re all battling to replace the GOP\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmstatelands.org\/default.aspx?PageID=2\" target=\"_blank\">Pat Lyons<\/a>, the current land commissioner who is term limited from seeking re-election.<\/p>\n<p>Montoya was first elected county commissioner in 2002. In 2006, he ran unopposed and won re-election. Before elected to the commission, he served eight years on the Pojoaque Valley School Board, and he is a past president of the state school board association.<\/p>\n<p>He\u2019s a native New Mexican who has been married to Doris for 28 years. They have two children, Brian, 27 and Angelo, 22, and three grandchildren.
