The wealthiest member is Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/kerry.senate.gov\/\">John Kerry<\/a>, D-Mass., who has a net worth of $167.55 million. Eight of the 10 richest members are Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>There are 28 Democrats and 22 Republicans on the list of the 50 richest, and 11 are freshmen members. No others from New Mexico are in the top 50.<\/p>\n<p>As a candidate last year, Teague listed his company, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.teacoenergy.com\/\">Teaco Energy Services<\/a>, as having a value of between $5 million and $25 million. Such a range is all that\u2019s required to be reported. But this year, on his congressional disclosure form, Teague went beyond what\u2019s required and \u201chelpfully\u201d gave exact values for all his assets, the article states. He reported the oil company\u2019s value as being $39,630,537.<\/p>\n<p>Teague has been willing to use his personal wealth to get elected.
