Susana Martinez<\/p><\/div>\n<p>With less than six months left in her time in office, Gov. Susana Martinez remains unpopular among New Mexico voters.<\/p>\n<p>Morning Consult released approval ratings for\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/morningconsult.com\/2018\/07\/25\/americas-most-and-least-popular-governors-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">all governors<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/morningconsult.com\/2018\/07\/25\/americas-most-and-least-popular-senators-2\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">U.S. Senators<\/a>\u00a0on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>The poll showed Martinez among the least popular governors in the nation, with 54 percent of voters disapproving of her job performance, compared to 35 percent who approve. Her disapproval rating is tied for the fifth-worst.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"module align-left half type-aside\">\n<h3>About this article<\/h3>\n<p>This article comes from\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/nmpoliticalreport.com\/862958\/poll-martinez-remains-unpopular-among-nm-voters\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">New Mexico Political Report<\/a>,\u00a0a nonprofit news organization\u00a0focused on promoting a greater public understanding of politics and policy in the state of New Mexico.<\/p>\n<\/aside>\n<p>The previous numbers, released in April, showed Martinez with 53 percent disapproval and 37 percent approval.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez is term-limited and cannot run for a third consecutive term. Democrat Michelle Lujan Grisham and Republican Steve Pearce are running to replace her.<\/p>\n<p>New Mexico\u2019s senators, meanwhile, both have more voters who approve of their job performances than disapprove, but are still below 50 percent because of those who answered they don\u2019t know or have no opinion.<\/p>\n<p>Martin Heinrich, who is running for reelection this November, has a 43 percent approval rating compared to 32 percent who disapprove.<\/p>\n<p>Tom Udall has a 46 percent approval rating to 30 percent disapproval rating.<\/p>\n<p>Both are Democrats.<\/p>\n<p>The numbers are a slight improvement from those released in April, when Heinrich\u2019s approval rating sat at 41 percent and Udall\u2019s was at 44 percent. Both had 34 percent disapproval ratings in that poll.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Earlier this month, Morning Consult showed President Donald Trump had an approval rating of 42 percent in New Mexico, compared to 54 percent who disapproved.<\/p>\n<p>Republican governors have the 10 highest approval ratings in the poll, but also seven of the ten highest disapproval ratings (Democrats have two, while an independent has one).<\/p>\n<p>Morning Consult surveyed 326,051 voters nationwide between April 1 to June 30.
