Bill Richardson (Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\">Bill Richardson<\/a> says he\u2019s not seeking a job in Washington and plans to finish out his term as governor.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThat used to be an agenda of mine, but no longer,\u201d article published today in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2009\/09\/12\/us\/politics\/12santafe.html\">New York Times<\/a> quoted him as saying about getting another job in Washington.<\/p>\n<p>After Richardson finishes his term as governor, according to the article, \u201che plans to take some time off to travel the country in a car &#8212; driving himself for the first time in years &#8212; to fulfill his longtime dream of visiting every major league baseball park.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI look forward to becoming a normal person,\u201d the newspaper quoted Richardson as saying.<\/p>\n<p>The article was taking a look at Richardson\u2019s stature now that the investigation into <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2008\/12\/grand-jury-probes-richardson-donors.html\">allegations of pay to play<\/a> in the his administration involving CDR Financial Products is over.<\/p>\n<p>From the article:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cGov. Bill Richardson got a standing ovation at a speech last week, and he said it felt like a hug from an old friend. It had been more than nine months since he was received with anything more than polite applause.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Richardson was quoted by the newspaper as saying he knows \u201cthe burden of being unfairly accused,\u201d but said \u201cA cloud has been lifted\u2026 and I feel vindicated, and I feel like I\u2019m back 100 percent.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Richardson, the article states, plans to focus during the remainder of his term on cutting the state\u2019s dropout rate and working on solar and other alternative energy. And he says he\u2019s going to stay out of the 2010 race to replace him.<\/p>\n<p>Richardson also said he has no interest in lobbying.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have no interest in making money.
