Allen Weh<\/p><\/div>\n

Former state GOP chairman Allen Weh<\/a> will formally enter the governor\u2019s race on Tuesday, he announced today.<\/p>\n

Weh made the announcement with a video<\/a> on YouTube and an invitation<\/a> sent out on Facebook.<\/p>\n

The event begins at noon Tuesday in the atrium at the student union building at the University of New Mexico<\/a> in Albuquerque.<\/p>\n

\u201cJoin me as I announce my candidacy for governor of the great state of New Mexico,\u201d Weh\u2019s invitation states.<\/p>\n

Weh has been campaigning for governor since he formed an exploratory committee<\/a> in May. Last week, he beefed up his staff<\/a> and began calling himself a \u201clikely\u201d candidate.<\/p>\n

The Republican field is crowded. Do\u00f1a Ana County District Attorney Susana Martinez<\/a> and state Rep. Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> have already entered the race. Public relations professional Doug Turner<\/a> appears to be about to formally jump into the race.<\/p>\n

And former U.S. Rep. Heather Wilson<\/a>, R-N.M., says she\u2019s thinking about running.<\/p>\n

On the Democratic side, the only announced candidate is Lt. Gov. Diane Denish<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
