(Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>State Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> plans to formally enter the 2010 Republican gubernatorial primary on Sunday.<\/p>\n<p>She will hold her rally at the <a href=\"http:\/\/maps.google.com\/maps?f=q&amp;source=s_q&amp;hl=en&amp;geocode=&amp;q=Sheraton+Albuquerque+Uptown+Hotel&amp;sll=35.113449,-106.568756&amp;sspn=0.038897,0.059395&amp;ie=UTF8&amp;z=14&amp;iwloc=A\">Sheraton Albuquerque Uptown Hotel<\/a> in Albuquerque on Sunday from 4-6 p.m., according to an announcement on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.facebook.com\/event.php?eid=236088210260\">her Facebook page<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The event was expected. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2009\/07\/arnold-jones-says-she-is-running-for-governor\/\">In July<\/a>, Arnold-Jones said she was running for governor but had to postpone a formal announcement until she recovered from a necessary surgery to repair torn muscles in her leg.<\/p>\n<p>The Republican\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/janiceforgovernor.com\/\">campaign Web site<\/a> states that she plans to focus her campaign on ethics, education, infrastructure and service.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cA central theme of my candidacy will be \u2018connectivity,\u2019\u201d her Web site states. \u201cBy focusing on the power of connectivity in &#8212; telephone, cable, fiber, wireless, satellite and internet communication, energy and energy transmission, roads, and individual participation &#8212; we can overcome our geography, honor our environment, enhance the education of our children and improve our economic well being.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There are several other Republicans running or considering running for governor. Do\u00f1a Ana County District Attorney <a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanamartinez2010.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Susana Martinez<\/a> has already declared her candidacy. Public relations professional <a href=\"http:\/\/turnerforgovernor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Doug Turner<\/a> appears to be about to formally jump into the race, and Former state GOP Chairman <a href=\"http:\/\/allenweh2010.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allen Weh<\/a> has formed an exploratory committee. Former U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heather_Wilson\" target=\"_blank\">Heather Wilson<\/a> says she\u2019s thinking about running.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>State Rep.
