Bill Richardson is in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">Wisconsin<\/st1:state><\/st1:place> today trying to help the re-election campaign of the state\u2019s governor.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The administration of Democrat Jim Doyle has recently been plagued by scandal. According to the <a href=\"http:\/\/projects.washingtonpost.com\/elections\/keyraces\/33\/\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Post<\/a>, jurors convicted a member of Doyle\u2019s administration of fraud on June 12 after an official was accused of \u201cdirecting a contract to a company that donated money to Doyle\u2019s campaign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cDoyle disavows any knowledge of the scandal and has attempted to distance himself from the corruption charges by firing the employee,\u201d the Post article states. \u201cHowever, in a state that prides itself on clean government, Doyle\u2019s hopes for another four years as governor have been damaged. How seriously remains to be seen, but with approval ratings hovering around 40 percent, chances for recovery do not look promising.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The Post says the governor\u2019s race in the state is a statistical dead heat.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In steps the Democratic Governors Association and its leader, Richardson, to help.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Not so fast, says that state\u2019s Republican Party.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In a flyer you can view by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haussamen.com\/Wisconsinflyer.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>, the party compares <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> with Doyle, calling them \u201cThe Scandal Twins\u201d who are both \u201cfor sale.\u201d It cites a few examples of <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> scandals, including his acceptance of campaign contributions about the same time contributors got something from him or the state \u2013 examples with which we are all familiar.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cJim Doyle has a record of ethical lapses that would make a <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Chicago<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> city councilman blush,\u201d the flyer states. \u201cBut when it comes to scandal and corruption, even Doyle takes a backseat to New Mexico Governor Bill Richardson.\u201d <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
