He also writes on his Web site about the importance of education, religion and free enterprise.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Krekula is an assistant professor of biology at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.usw.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\">University of the Southwest<\/a>, which according to its Web site is a \u201ca Christ-centered educational community dedicated to developing men and women for a lifetime of servant leadership by emphasizing individual faith, responsibility, and initiative.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"> He was in the U.S. Army for 12 years and worked in the health-care industry for 15, according to his Web site. He has a doctorate degree in epidemiology from Walden University.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Krekula\u2019s Web site states that he \u201cbelieves in limited government, personal responsibility and moral values. He is a conservative who agrees with George Washington\u2019s Farewell Address that \u2018religion and morality are indispensable supports\u2019 to political prosperity.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">He says he will \u201csupport the oil industry that provides jobs and prosperity to the great state of New Mexico\u2026 encourage and grow family values as they are the backbone of America and its greatness\u201d and \u201cwork to show the importance of education from a personal level as well as reaching out to New Mexico Homeschoolers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cNathan loves New Mexico and he wants to see it become an example to the nation of how free enterprise can restore our nation\u2019s greatness,\u201d he writes on his Web site.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Krekula, a political unknown, will face some stiff opposition in the GOP primary. Do\u00f1a Ana County District Attorney <a href=\"http:\/\/www.susanamartinez2010.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Susana Martinez<\/a> and State Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.janicearnoldjones.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Janice Arnold-Jones<\/a> of Albuquerque have already entered the race. Public relations professional <a href=\"http:\/\/turnerforgovernor.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Doug Turner<\/a> appears to be about to jump into the race, and Former state GOP Chairman <a href=\"http:\/\/allenweh2010.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Allen Weh<\/a> has formed an exploratory committee.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In addition, former U.S. Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Heather_Wilson\" target=\"_blank\">Heather Wilson<\/a> says she\u2019s thinking about running.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On the Democratic side, Lt. Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dianedenish.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diane Denish<\/a> is the only declared 2010 gubernatorial candidate, though Senate Majority Leader <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmlegis.gov\/lcs\/legdetails.aspx?SPONCODE=SSANC\" target=\"_blank\">Michael Sanchez<\/a> says he\u2019s formed an exploratory committee. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A faculty member at a Christian university in Hobbs is joining the race for governor.
