Feldman said <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haussamen.com\/FeldmanLetterToObama.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">a letter<\/a> she and others recently sent to Washington leaders about health-care reform may have been the reason for the invitation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWhat a thrill&#8211; I have been waiting for leadership on this issue from the federal level for over a decade,\u201d Feldman wrote on <a href=\"http:\/\/senatorfeldman.typepad.com\/senator_dede_feldmans_blo\/2009\/06\/dede-goes-to-washington-and-more.html\" target=\"_blank\">her blog<\/a>. \u201cAnd they want to know what works&#8211; and what does not&#8211; out here in New Mexico, which has one of the lowest rates of insurance in the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cHere\u2019s where it\u2019s great to have a former State Senator in the White House,\u201d Feldman wrote. \u201cObama knows that states have been struggling with access and cost issues for a decade. \u2026 The White House staffers, in subsequent conference calls have said the President wants this done by August.
