Bill Richardson criticized the fact that almost half of Dendahl\u2019s contributions came from the oil and gas industry.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city>\u2019s campaign asked for it, and Dendahl gave the appropriate response \u2013<st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> has taken almost 10 times as much oil and gas money.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><span style=\"\"> <\/span><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/5892\/2386\/1600\/Richardson%2C%20Bill.53.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/photos1.blogger.com\/blogger\/5892\/2386\/200\/Richardson%2C%20Bill.50.jpg\" alt=\"\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Dendahl reported raising $59,700 as of July 3. At that point, he had spent only $1,373. More than half \u2013 $25,000 \u2013 came from the oil and gas industry.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cIt\u2019s clear why he didn\u2019t want to file the report,\u201d said Richardson Campaign Manager Amanda Cooper, referring to the tardiness of Dendahl\u2019s filing. \u201cHe\u2019s clearly in the pocket of big oil and gas.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">That\u2019s according to a Thursday article in the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/state\/482861nm08-10-06.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dendahl responded in another <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/state\/483273nm08-11-06.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Journal<\/a> article this morning, accusing Gov. Bill Richardson of hypocrisy. According to the Institute on Money in State Politics, <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> has taken $234,263 from the oil and gas industry thus far in his re-election campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Though it\u2019s less than 4 percent of the $7.3 million <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> has raised thus far, it\u2019s almost 10 times what Dendahl has received, the Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cIt is the typical hypocritical doublespeak that we have grown used to\u2026\u201d Dendahl told the Journal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Cooper responded by saying <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s acceptance of oil and gas money is a sign of broad-based support.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe have thousands of supporters from all over the state,\u201d she told the Journal.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Nice attempt to finagle her way out of a corner, but Cooper asked for that shot from Dendahl. It is true that <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> has many financial supporters. In fact, he has accepted single contributions that are four times larger than all the oil and gas money Cooper criticized Dendahl for taking.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Dendahl is in bed with big oil and gas for taking $25,000, but <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s acceptance of 10 times that reveals broad-based support?<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">You can\u2019t have it both ways. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Wednesday, Republican gubernatorial candidate John Dendahl filed his first campaign finance report, a month late, and the campaign of Gov.
