Peters is close to Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> and has contributed well over $100,000 to the governor\u2019s campaigns, all while doing business with the state that has <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2007\/09\/dot-bid-has-integrity-but-new-process.html\">at times been controversial<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SUqzsO5Ay1I\/AAAAAAAAJk4\/C6FM01BsGJQ\/s1600-h\/Peters,+Gerald.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 120px; height: 160px;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SUqzsO5Ay1I\/AAAAAAAAJk4\/C6FM01BsGJQ\/s200\/Peters,+Gerald.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5281231085538167634\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Richardson himself has <a href=\"http:\/\/kob.com\/article\/stories\/S575529.shtml?cat=517\" target=\"_blank\">praised the idea<\/a> of a Kilmer gubernatorial run. Kilmer, who recently switched his party affiliation from independent to Democrat, would ostensibly be running against Lt. Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ltgovernor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Diane Denish<\/a>, who is about to become governor when Richardson becomes commerce secretary, in the 2010 primary.
