Bill Richardson got a chance to address the Democratic Leadership Council Monday in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Denver<\/st1:city><\/st1:place>, but those who stayed were impressed, according to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/state\/478580nm07-25-06.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> promoted himself and state-level leaders as those who are moving <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">America<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region> forward, taking shots at the White House and Congress for doing nothing.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The governor was one of four potential 2008 presidential candidates to address the group. He was joined by Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New York<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>, Sen. Evan Bayh of Indiana and Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> was the last to address the group, and even C-SPAN packed up before his speech, the Journal reported.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city> talked about the need to find alternate energy sources and promoted <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>\u2019s tax credits for solar and wind energy. He touted state-paid life insurance plans for National Guard members and paper ballots, nationally controversial issues already being dealt with in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">One person who heard <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> speak said he held his ground with the other three.
