Obama met with Clinton Thursday, and the Post reported that sources say she is a \u201ctop contender\u201d for the job. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.huffingtonpost.com\/2008\/11\/14\/clinton-met-with-obama-ab_n_143810.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Huffington Post<\/a> went so far as to report that Obama offered Clinton the job.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SSEklOiOFmI\/AAAAAAAAJW0\/GX-e9Nk1llI\/s1600-h\/Clinton,+Hillary.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 120px; height: 160px;\" src=\"http:\/\/2.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SSEklOiOFmI\/AAAAAAAAJW0\/GX-e9Nk1llI\/s200\/Clinton,+Hillary.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5269533260975576674\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>A Richardson spokesman declined to comment Friday on the meeting. The Washington Post reported that Obama\u2019s short list for secretary of state also includes <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/John_Kerry\" target=\"_blank\">John Kerry<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The news that Richardson and Clinton might be up for the same job prompted an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abqjournal.com\/news\/washington\/150616washington11-15-08.htm\" target=\"_blank\">Albuquerque Journal<\/a> article about their past relationship. The article recounts how Richardson \u201cwent out on a political limb\u201d earlier this year in endorsing Obama over Clinton, looking \u201cpast his ties with former President <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bill_Clinton\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Clinton<\/a> &#8212; who had made him ambassador to the United Nations and energy secretary &#8212; (and taking) a chance on his own political future.\u201d The move paid off because Obama won, but it also angered many Clinton loyalists, including <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/James_Carville\" target=\"_blank\">James Carville<\/a>, who compared Richardson\u2019s endorsement of Obama to Judas\u2019 betrayal of Jesus.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Richardson and Clinton reportedly buried the hatchet earlier this year when he held fundraisers to help her retire her campaign debt, but the governor has said the rift with Bill Clinton created by his endorsement may be permanent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
