There\u2019s no doubt about it.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Udall thanked his volunteers and staffers, saying he \u201chad an incredible grassroots effort in this campaign. And he had kind words for Pearce, who will leave the House of Representatives at the end of the year, saying the two \u201cwere friends when this started.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe\u2019re going to be friends when this finishes, and I enjoyed serving with him in the U.S. House of Representatives,\u201d Udall said. \u201cWhile we both differ on many issues, we both love <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, and I very much appreciate him focusing on the issues rather than personal attacks (during the campaign.)\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Domenici, Udall said, \u201chas fought for the very best of <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Pearce\u2019s campaign said a statement would be forthcoming.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>U.S. Sen.-elect Tom Udall thanked Republican opponent Steve Pearce and retiring Sen.
