{"id":3798,"date":"2008-10-03T10:17:00","date_gmt":"2008-10-03T16:17:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/10\/sign-up-now-to-participate-in-congressional-forums\/"},"modified":"2008-10-03T10:17:00","modified_gmt":"2008-10-03T16:17:00","slug":"sign-up-now-to-participate-in-congressional-forums","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/10\/sign-up-now-to-participate-in-congressional-forums\/","title":{"rendered":"Sign up now to participate in congressional forums"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmfirst.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">New Mexico First<\/a> is sponsoring congressional forums in each of the state\u2019s three districts later this month, and is seeking people who are interested in participating in town-hall meetings to discuss issues they want the candidates to address and then question the candidates during the forums.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The half-day, town-hall meetings will precede the live, televised forums at which those who participate in the forums will become the studio audiences and get the opportunity to question the candidates.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">To participate, people must be registered voters. To get more information and sign up, click <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmfirst.org\/townhalls\/election08_overview.html\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>. Seating is limited and on a first-come, first-served basis. Dinner will be provided to the participants between the meetings and candidate forums.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The 2nd Congressional District forum will be held from 7-8 p.m. on Thursday at the KRWG-TV studio on the <st1:placename st=\"on\">New  Mexico<\/st1:placename> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">State<\/st1:placetype> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">University<\/st1:placetype> campus in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> and broadcast live on all three public television stations in the state and several public radio stations. It will be preceded by the half-day meeting from 1-5 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The 3rd Congressional District forum will be held Oct. 14 from 7-8 p.m. at Rio Rancho High School in Rio Rancho and will be preceded by the same 1-5 p.m. meeting.
