Meredith worked the cash register, and I cooked,\u201d Tinsley says in explaining his start in business. He and his wife eventually took over the K-BOB\u2019s Steakhouses chain of restaurants.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The difference in this version of the ad: Tinsley focuses on bringing down gas prices and taxes.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cIn challenging economic times, a strong energy policy means lower prices at the pump,\u201d Tinsley says in the ad. \u201cLow taxes mean small-business growth and relief for working families.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Tinsley\u2019s opponent, Democrat <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harryforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Teague<\/a>, has also been running <a href=\"http:\/\/haussamen.blogspot.com\/2008\/09\/politico-cd2-race-is-one-that-could.html\">a positive TV ad<\/a> focusing on himself. But the Tinsley campaign pointed out that Teague is also running <a href=\"http:\/\/www.haussamen.com\/TeagueRadioAd.wav\" target=\"_blank\">this negative radio ad<\/a> attacking Tinsley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cEd Tinsley offers a positive choice for <st1:place st=\"on\">Southern  New Mexico<\/st1:place>,\u201d spokesman Jim Pettit said. \u201cThe focus on the next Congress will be reforming our nation\u2019s financial system, and partisan attacks aren\u2019t going to get the job done.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Meanwhile, the state Democratic Party put out a news release claiming that Tinsley\u2019s new TV ad \u201cneglects to paint the complete picture, which includes his work as a corporate lawyer before he ever owned a \u2018sandwich shop,\u2019 poor treatment of his employees, and favoritism for special interests over middle-class families.\u201d Click <a href=\"http:\/\/nmdemocrats.net\/news.asp?artid=175\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a> if you want the details.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican 2nd Congressional District candidate Ed Tinsley began airing his first television ad of the general-election season on Tuesday, a 30-second spot that\u2019s not unlike introductory ads he ran during the primary.
