Both candidates in the 1st Congressional District race are out with new television ads today.<\/p>\n

Republican Darren White<\/a> is up with his first ad of the general-election season, a positive, introductory spot that doesn\u2019t mention Democratic opponent Martin Heinrich<\/a>. Here it is:<\/p>\n

\u201cDarren White. A lifetime of service,\u201d the ad\u2019s narrator states. \u201cReady to lead. He served our country in the elite 82nd Airborne. A street<\/st1:address><\/st1:street> cop who rose to cabinet secretary. Darren White put service in front of politics, resigning when the governor promoted the legalization of drugs. As sheriff he\u2019s cracked down on DWI, doubling arrests.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The ad concludes with White saying he will be \u201can independent voice for you.\u201d<\/p>\n

Heinrich, meanwhile, is out today with his second ad of the general-election season, which continues his attempt to link White to President Bush<\/a>.<\/p>\n
