The party has replaced him on the ballot with Sowards.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">With a clever slogan and easy-to-remember Web address &#8212; <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortbaldhonest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">shortbaldhonest.com<\/a> &#8212; Sowards secured 17 percent of the vote in the 2nd Congressional District Republican primary in June and won <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>, but he lost that five-way race to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edtinsleyforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ed Tinsley<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Sowards will face Democrat Leticia Benavidez in November. The winner will replace <a href=\"http:\/\/www.donaanacounty.org\/commissioners\/district5\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill McCamley<\/a> on the commission.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Matthew Martin, the Republican who had been running against state Rep. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/LCS\/legdetails.asp?Name=205\" target=\"_blank\">Antonio Lujan<\/a>, D-Las Cruces, in the District 35 race, has also dropped out, the newspaper reported.
