\"\"<\/a>John McCain\u2019s<\/a> new Spanish-language radio ad continues his recent trend of taking aim at Barack Obama\u2019s<\/a> celebrity, but the ad is primarily an attack on the Democratic presidential candidate\u2019s economic policies. <\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The 60-second ad, which is airing in Colorado<\/st1:state>, Florida<\/st1:state>, Nevada<\/st1:state> and New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>, begins with the narrator saying, in Spanish, \u201cFame must be grand for Barack Obama. But is he ready to lead in tough economic times?\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

The ad then goes on to attack Obama for having a \u201cgrand history of raising taxes,\u201d and states that his campaign promises \u201cwould mean even more taxes on income, electricity, small business, seniors, your life savings, your family.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u201cPainful taxes — when times are tough enough,\u201d the narrator says.<\/p>\n

Obama spokesman Carlos Sanchez released this statement:<\/p>\n

\u201cA negative ad is a negative ad no matter what language it is in. Sen. Obama\u2019s campaign for change is about standing up for New Mexico<\/st1:State>\u2019s working families and bringing positive change to Washington<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>,\u201d he said. \u201cCampaign for change is committed to the Hispanic community in New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cWhile McCain is playing the same old negative politics, Sen. Obama was in Albuquerque<\/st1:City> yesterday talking to New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:State>\u2019s voters. Sen. Obama held a public town hall meeting at Rio Grande<\/st1:PlaceName> High School<\/st1:PlaceType> in the South<\/st1:PlaceName> Valley<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>, where he answered questions from New Mexicans, including questions on education, health care, immigration and Social Security,\u201d he said. \u201cHe also held an economic roundtable discussion with working women. He fielded questions from more than 40 working mothers, daughters and single parents, who can\u2019t afford four more years of the same failed Bush-McCain economic policies. Sen.
