But he\u2019s still not on the program for the convention <a href=\"http:\/\/www.demconvention.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">being held in Denver from Aug. 25-28<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SKSOtuvsrjI\/AAAAAAAAGeE\/u4AzqvDUOn8\/s1600-h\/Obama,+Barack.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SKSOtuvsrjI\/AAAAAAAAGeE\/u4AzqvDUOn8\/s200\/Obama,+Barack.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234465583204707890\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/ci_10191294?source=rss\" target=\"_blank\">Denver Post<\/a> states in an article reporting on a list of speakers announced today that Richardson\u2019s absence from the list means he is \u201cpresumably still in the veepstakes\u201d along with others including Virginia Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.virginia.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Tim Kaine<\/a>, Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/bayh.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Evan Bayh<\/a> of Indiana, Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/biden.senate.gov\/\" target=\"_blank\">Joe Biden<\/a> of Delaware and former Georgia Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Sam_Nunn\" target=\"_blank\">Sam Nunn<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">On the other hand, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/wp-dyn\/content\/article\/2008\/08\/13\/AR2008081304137_2.html?sid=ST2008081400022&amp;s_pos=\" target=\"_blank\">Washington Post<\/a> is reporting that convention organizers say the list of speakers is not complete and <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> \u201cis likely to make an appearance.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Several news outlets are reporting that <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama<\/a> will likely announce his running mate next week. In the meantime, his campaign has remained tight-lipped about the situation.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> also isn\u2019t going to talk about the situation, spokesman Pahl Shipley said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe have no comment on anything related to the VP search,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Talk of Richardson as a possible Obama running mate had died down <a href=\"http:\/\/richardson4vp.blogspot.com\/2008\/08\/richardson-for-vp-buzz-gets-louder.html\" target=\"_blank\">until recently<\/a>, when the Denver Post urged Obama to pick New Mexico\u2019s governor and other chatter about Richardson increased.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Update, 5:05 p.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Shortly after I posted this article, Democrats released the list of speakers for the night that the vice-presidential candidate is scheduled to speak &#8212; and they include Bayh, Biden and Richardson. As <a href=\"http:\/\/thehill.com\/campaign-2008\/potential-vp-candidates-fill-wednesday-speaking-slots-2008-08-14.html\" target=\"_blank\">The Hill<\/a> reports, that raises more questions than it answers. Any or all of the three could still be under consideration for the VP spot on the ticket. Or they might all have been cut from the list of potential Obama running mates.
