{"id":3568,"date":"2008-08-13T16:11:00","date_gmt":"2008-08-13T22:11:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/08\/richardson-asks-supporters-to-pitch-in-for-teague\/"},"modified":"2008-08-13T16:11:00","modified_gmt":"2008-08-13T22:11:00","slug":"richardson-asks-supporters-to-pitch-in-for-teague","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/08\/richardson-asks-supporters-to-pitch-in-for-teague\/","title":{"rendered":"Richardson asks supporters to pitch in for Teague"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SKNcOFAmxMI\/AAAAAAAAGdM\/0XNGZWbEyyM\/s1600-h\/Richardson,+Bill.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SKNcOFAmxMI\/AAAAAAAAGdM\/0XNGZWbEyyM\/s200\/Richardson,+Bill.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234128588867290306\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> is asking supporters of his unsuccessful presidential campaign to donate to Democratic 2nd Congressional District candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harryforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Teague<\/a>.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> made the pitch today in an e-mail sent by the Teague campaign to addresses in the e-mail database of the governor\u2019s now-defunct presidential campaign.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Saying that Teague is the Democrat with the best shot in a generation of winning the 2nd District seat, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> wrote that he is \u201ca special candidate.\u201d That\u2019s because Teague started working for $1.50 an hour when his father became ill and has built from that beginning a company that employs 250 people and treats them well, Richardson said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SKNcN33UMmI\/AAAAAAAAGdE\/CZygTnqljoU\/s1600-h\/Teague,+Harry.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/1.bp.blogspot.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SKNcN33UMmI\/AAAAAAAAGdE\/CZygTnqljoU\/s200\/Teague,+Harry.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5234128585338663522\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\u201cI know that Harry will go to Congress and fight, everyday, for New Mexico families so that everyone who works hard gets good wages, health care and quality education for their children,\u201d Richardson wrote.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Between now and Sept. 8, <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> stated in the letter, he and other supporters of the campaign will match every dollar Teague raises.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This is the second time <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> has worked to raise money for Teague. Last month, he hosted a fundraiser for the candidate in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Las Cruces<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Teague and a business partner, Johnny Cope, helped <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> out during his presidential campaign by letting him use their private aircraft for travel. Because of that, the <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> for President campaign still owes about $200,000 to their company, Lea King LLC.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
