{"id":35515,"date":"2012-01-23T16:01:02","date_gmt":"2012-01-23T23:01:02","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/?p=35515"},"modified":"2012-01-24T08:24:17","modified_gmt":"2012-01-24T15:24:17","slug":"guv-to-scale-back-session-agenda","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2012\/01\/guv-to-scale-back-session-agenda\/","title":{"rendered":"Guv to scale back session agenda"},"content":{"rendered":"<div id=\"attachment_29740\"  class=\"wp-caption module image alignright\" style=\"max-width: 270px;\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29740 \" title=\"Roundhouse\" src=\"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/06\/Roundhouse.jpeg\" alt=\"The Roundhouse in Santa Fe\" width=\"270\" height=\"203\" \/><\/a><p class=\"wp-caption-text\">The Roundhouse in Santa Fe (Photo by Heath Haussamen)<\/p><\/div>\n<p>After receiving criticism from some Democratic legislative leaders that she had put too much on their plate for the 30-day session that\u2019s in progress, Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Susana Martinez<\/a> plans to scale back the scope of the session later today.<\/p>\n<p>Martinez spokesman Scott Darnell said a final list of messages allowing the consideration of various topics should be published today <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/default.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">on the governor\u2019s website<\/a>, and it will include the rescinding of most of the more than 40 messages the governor sent to the House last week.<\/p>\n<p>He gave no clues about what would be cut.<\/p>\n<p>During 30-day sessions that are designed to focus on the budget, other topics can only be considered with the governor\u2019s approval. Martinez sent about 80 messages to the House and Senate allowing consideration of other topics last week.<\/p>\n<p>As reported by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.santafenewmexican.com\/Local%20News\/Martinez-makes-many-requests-of-Legislature\" target=\"_blank\">The Santa Fe New Mexican<\/a>, some were upset by that.<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cShe just expanded a 30-day session to a 60-day session in one day,\u201d Sen.
