{"id":3516,"date":"2008-07-31T11:01:00","date_gmt":"2008-07-31T17:01:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/07\/guv-appoints-new-deputy-secretary-for-prison-reform\/"},"modified":"2008-07-31T11:01:00","modified_gmt":"2008-07-31T17:01:00","slug":"guv-appoints-new-deputy-secretary-for-prison-reform","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/07\/guv-appoints-new-deputy-secretary-for-prison-reform\/","title":{"rendered":"Guv appoints new deputy secretary for prison reform"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Gov. <a href=\"http:\/\/governor.state.nm.us\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill Richardson<\/a> today appointed Gail Oliver to serve as deputy secretary of reentry and prison reform in the Department of Corrections.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">This is a new position <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:City><\/st1:place> created as a result of a recommendation from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.governor.state.nm.us\/Prison%20Reform%20Task%20Force%20Final%20for%20Reproduction%20to%20CD%20-%20Complete%20%282%29.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">Governor\u2019s Task Force on Prison Reform<\/a>. <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> made the announcement in a news release. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI am committed to improving <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:State>\u2019s corrections system,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> said.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Oliver will oversee development of prison and community programs that will allow inmates to leave prison with the skills they need to be successful.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Oliver has been the Corrections Department\u2019s education bureau chief since 1996. She has more than 25 years of experience in health, human services, legal, education services delivery and administration for youth and adults.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Gov.
