But is he ready to lead?\u201d the ad\u2019s narrator asks. \u201cWith gas prices soaring, Barack Obama says no to offshore drilling. And says he\u2019ll raise taxes on electricity. Higher taxes. More foreign oil. That\u2019s the real Obama.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The ad comes on the heels of Obama\u2019s overseas trip, which earned him a great deal of media attention and revealed that he is a star across the world.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Rick Davis, McCain\u2019s campaign manager, said today on a conference call with reporters that McCain is one of the most well-traveled politicians in America and someone foreign leaders call for advice and help.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Meanwhile, he said, the Obama campaign is focusing on media attention and building star power.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThe focus on events and activities is something you\u2019d except from someone releasing a new movie rather than running for president,\u201d he said, adding that Obama\u2019s strategy appears to be \u201cto create a fan base around the world that allows him to get a lot of media attention and avoids the issues.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe see (McCain) more as a global leader than a global celebrity,\u201d <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Davis<\/st1:place><\/st1:City> said.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Republican presidential candidate John McCain\u2019s new TV ad calls Democratic opponent Barack Obama \u201cthe biggest celebrity in the world\u201d and compares him with scandal-plagued stars Britney Spears and Paris Hilton.
