{"id":3486,"date":"2008-07-22T16:55:00","date_gmt":"2008-07-22T22:55:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/07\/teague-agrees-to-three-debates-tinsley-wants-more\/"},"modified":"2008-07-22T16:55:00","modified_gmt":"2008-07-22T22:55:00","slug":"teague-agrees-to-three-debates-tinsley-wants-more","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/07\/teague-agrees-to-three-debates-tinsley-wants-more\/","title":{"rendered":"Teague agrees to three debates; Tinsley wants more"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SIZlaBy3K8I\/AAAAAAAAGQc\/xFTbeEexXCE\/s1600-h\/Teague,+Harry.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/bp3.blogger.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SIZlaBy3K8I\/AAAAAAAAGQc\/xFTbeEexXCE\/s200\/Teague,+Harry.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225975915442809794\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Democratic 2nd Congressional District candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harryteagueforcongress08.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Teague<\/a> has agreed to three debates with Republican opponent <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edtinsleyforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ed Tinsley<\/a>, but he has thus far not responded to a challenge to make joint appearances in every county in the district.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">According to the Teague campaign, Teague and Tinsley have agreed to three debates &#8212; on Saturday in Mescalero, Aug. 7 in <st1:city st=\"on\">Las  Cruces<\/st1:city> and Oct. 19 in <st1:city st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Albuquerque<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">But Tinsley said in a Monday news release that he is disappointed in Teague\u2019s failure to respond to his challenge to attend joint town-hall meetings in every county in the district. His campaign sent a letter to Teague\u2019s on July 14 making the request, but it has gone unanswered.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SIZldn5DfdI\/AAAAAAAAGQk\/7YgVP3ovs8k\/s1600-h\/Tinsley,+Ed.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/bp1.blogger.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SIZldn5DfdI\/AAAAAAAAGQk\/7YgVP3ovs8k\/s200\/Tinsley,+Ed.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5225975977208937938\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>\u201cI will continue to travel the 2nd Congressional District to clearly articulate my vision for <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New   Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>,\u201d Tinsley said. \u201cI hope that Harry will come forward and let New Mexicans have a chance to hear the differences in our positions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Teague said in a statement released by his campaign that he is \u201ceager\u201d to debate Tinsley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe\u2019ve already agreed to several debates and forums and expect to appear at several more,\u201d Teague said. \u201cAnd because Ed lives and works in <st1:city st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:city>, I\u2019d be happy to show him around <st1:place st=\"on\">Southern New Mexico<\/st1:place>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Tinsley owns two homes, one in Capitan in the 2nd District and one in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:city st=\"on\">Santa Fe<\/st1:city><\/st1:place> in the 3rd District.
