GOP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Texas<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> homebuilder who funded the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Swift_Boat_Veterans_For_Truth\" target=\"_blank\">Swift Boat Veterans for Truth\u2019s<\/a> 2004 campaign against Democratic Presidential candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnkerry.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John Kerry<\/a> is continuing to aid New Mexico Republicans.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bob_J._Perry\" target=\"_blank\">Bob Perry<\/a> gave $125,000 to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.gopnm.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Republican Party of New Mexico<\/a> last month, according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.santafenewmexican.com\/SantaFeNorthernNM\/-Swift-Boat--supporter-contributes--125-000-to-state-Republican\" target=\"_blank\">The Associated Press<\/a>. That was some 90 percent of the total funds raised by the party from May 28 to June 28, and it helped the GOP dramatically out-raise the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nmdemocrats.net\" target=\"_blank\">Democratic Party of New Mexico<\/a> during that period.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Perry has shown quite an interest in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> in recent years. He gave almost $240,000 to the 2002 gubernatorial campaign of Republican John Sanchez. In 2006, he pumped $160,000 into the campaigns of the GOP nominees for several statewide races in <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>. He also gave $70,000 to the state party and $20,000 to a Republican state House candidate from <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Do\u00f1a<\/st1:placename>  <st1:placename st=\"on\">Ana<\/st1:placename> <st1:placename st=\"on\">County<\/st1:placename><\/st1:place>, Isaac Chavez.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Perry has been one of the top political givers in the nation in recent years.
