{"id":3422,"date":"2008-07-03T15:13:00","date_gmt":"2008-07-03T21:13:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/07\/mccain-unveils-spanish-radio-ad-in-n-m-nevada\/"},"modified":"2008-07-03T15:13:00","modified_gmt":"2008-07-03T21:13:00","slug":"mccain-unveils-spanish-radio-ad-in-n-m-nevada","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nmpolitics.net\/index\/2008\/07\/mccain-unveils-spanish-radio-ad-in-n-m-nevada\/","title":{"rendered":"McCain unveils Spanish radio ad in N.M., Nevada"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a onblur=\"try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}\" href=\"http:\/\/bp2.blogger.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SG1BNmINSBI\/AAAAAAAAGH0\/AWNj-KcuBZ0\/s1600-h\/McCain,+John.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;\" src=\"http:\/\/bp2.blogger.com\/_IabUCQmoheQ\/SG1BNmINSBI\/AAAAAAAAGH0\/AWNj-KcuBZ0\/s200\/McCain,+John.jpg\" alt=\"\" id=\"BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5218899245021349906\" border=\"0\" \/><\/a>Republican presidential candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.johnmccain.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">John McCain<\/a> launched a new Spanish-language radio ad in <st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state> and <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">Nevada<\/st1:place><\/st1:state> today as he tries to cut into Democratic candidate <a href=\"http:\/\/www.barackobama.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Barack Obama\u2019s<\/a> support among Hispanics.  <\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The ad features McCain\u2019s roommate at the Naval academy, a Hispanic who says McCain \u201cshares our same conservative values and faith in God.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cMy roommate at the U.S. Naval Academy is running for president of the <st1:country-region st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">United States<\/st1:place><\/st1:country-region>, and he wants what is best for the Hispanic community, too,\u201d Frank Gamboa says in Spanish in the ad. \u201cHis name is John McCain and he has stood for our community even in the most difficult of times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Gamboa goes on to say that McCain \u201cknows that family is the focal part of our lives and that we value hard work\u201d and \u201chas earned the trust of Latinos and has a history of supporting us.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cThis election, it seems to me that the other candidate has just discovered the importance of the Hispanic vote,\u201d Gamboa says. \u201cSo when it comes to our values and understanding Latinos this election, I know for John it\u2019s not political; it comes from the heart.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">You can listen to the ad &#8212; in Spanish &#8212; by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=VV8D3ITyd2w\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.
