\"\"<\/a>The Internet is abuzz with speculation that Hillary Clinton won\u2019t run for president following a conversation at a recent Bill Richardson event. <\/p>\n

Apparently, longtime Clinton<\/st1:city> confidant Susan Thomases recently held a meet-and-greet in New York<\/st1:state> for New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>\u2019s governor. According to The New York Observer\u2019s Politicker<\/a>, two guests claim Thomases said at the event that Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> isn\u2019t running for president.<\/p>\n

However, Thomases says that isn\u2019t what she said.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

Here\u2019s how it allegedly happened: Richardson<\/st1:city> was \u201cmaking his big presidential pitch to guests,\u201d the Politcker reported, when he interrupted himself to apologize to Thomases for putting her in an uncomfortable position because of her relationship with Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>. The guests told the Politicker that Thomases said Richardson<\/st1:city> need not worry because Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> isn\u2019t running for president.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe way she put it was, (Clinton<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s) husband thinks she\u2019s running, many of her friends think she\u2019s running, but she\u2019s not running,\u201d one of the guests told the Politicker. \u201cIt was almost like an atom bomb dropped on the room. \u2026 My jaw just fell to the floor.\u201d<\/p>\n

Thomases told the Politicker she didn\u2019t say that.<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u201cI said, \u2018she\u2019s not running; she\u2019s running for Senate, and that\u2019s what she\u2019s doing, period.\u2019 There was nothing awkward about it, because she\u2019s running for the Senate, which is something you all know. It was nothing new. I just repeated the same old,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
