He has 80 percent of the vote to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.heatherforsenate.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Heather Wilson\u2019s<\/a> 20 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the Republican 2nd Congressional District primary, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.edtinsleyforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Ed Tinsley<\/a> is narrowly leading with 31 percent of the vote to 30 percent for <a href=\"http:\/\/aubreydunn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Aubrey Dunn Jr.<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.montyforcongress.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Monty Newman<\/a> has 25 percent, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shortbaldhonest.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Greg Sowards<\/a> has 11 percent and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.earlgreer.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">C. Earl Greer<\/a> has 3 percent.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">In the Democratic 2nd Congressional District primary, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.harryteagueforcongress08.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Harry Teague<\/a> is beating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.billmccamley.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Bill McCamley<\/a> early on, with 68 percent of the vote to McCamley\u2019s 32 percent in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Chaves<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">It\u2019s also worth noting that, in the early results that are being reported in <st1:placename st=\"on\">Chaves<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:PlaceType>, state House Minority Whip <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=190&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Dan Foley<\/a> is losing to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denniskintigh.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Dennis Kintigh<\/a> 64 percent to 36 percent, but the district extends far beyond <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Chaves<\/st1:PlaceName> <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place>. State Sen. <a href=\"http:\/\/legis.state.nm.us\/lcs\/legdetails.asp?Name=249&amp;Submit=Search\" target=\"_blank\">Rod Adair<\/a> is beating <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rorymcminn.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Rory McMinn<\/a> in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:placename st=\"on\">Chaves<\/st1:PlaceName>  <st1:placetype st=\"on\">County<\/st1:PlaceType><\/st1:place> 53 percent to 47 percent.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>With early and absentee voting and some precincts already counted, Chaves County is going heavily to Steve Pearce in the Republican U.S. Senate primary.
