Luj\u00e1n<\/a> in the 3rd Congressional District Democratic primary, calling him \u201cthe most qualified candidate\u201d and \u201cbest prepared to represent the diverse communities that stretch across northern and eastern New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>.\u201d <\/p>\n

\u201cI am also proud to endorse a candidate who has taken the high road against negative and unnecessary political attacks from some of his opponents,\u201d Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city> said in a news release from Luj\u00e1n campaign.<\/p>\n

In the news release, Richardson<\/st1:city> called Luj\u00e1n \u201cthe candidate who will stand up for New Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>.\u201d<\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/p>\n

\u201cHe has worked hard on the Public Regulation Commission to serve the people of New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>,\u201d the governor said. \u201cNo other candidate can match his record of fighting for consumers, increasing renewable energy production and creating regional solutions to climate change.\u201d<\/p>\n

Luj\u00e1n said he is \u201cproud\u201d to have Richardson<\/st1:place><\/st1:city>\u2019s endorsement.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn Congress, I will carry on the tradition that Governor Richardson and Congressman Udall set of standing up for the people of New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Webster Cash, spokesman for Luj\u00e1n primary opponent Don Wiviott<\/a>, had this to say about the governor\u2019s endorsement:<\/p>\n
