Since then, Teague has infused his campaign with his own cash and flooded the 2nd District airwaves with television ads, while McCamley has run none. Teague, according to the poll, maintained his lead when respondents were asked if they were certain of their choice. Some 28 percent said they are certain they\u2019ll support Teague, while 11 percent said they are certain they\u2019ll support McCamley.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The memo says the poll is notable for the large number of undecideds and for Teague\u2019s large lead among those who are decided.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Winning Connections isn\u2019t a well-known opinion-polling company, according to a post at New Mexico FBIHOP. A veteran pollster raises questions about Teague\u2019s poll in that site\u2019s article, which you can read by clicking <a href=\"http:\/\/nmfbihop.com\/showDiary.do?diaryId=1012\" target=\"_blank\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">Meanwhile, the Teague campaign announced today the endorsement of the American Federation of Teachers.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWe are looking for champions of our schools and our educational employees\u2026 We want our candidates to refuse to let issues like public education and health care fall off the state agenda,\u201d said AFT President Christine Trujillo in a news release explaining the group\u2019s endorsement of Teague. \u201cWe want them to lead the charge for working people and advocate for better policies that result in better and more secure jobs, a stronger tax base and economic growth that benefits employees as well as corporations.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cI have always believed that our children need a great education,\u201d Teague said in the release. \u201cThat\u2019s one reason why I\u2019ve always supported local schools and provided my employees\u2019 children with college scholarships. <st1:state st=\"on\"><st1:place st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:place><\/st1:state>\u2019s children have no better ally than the AFT. I am honored to have their support but, more importantly, I look forward to standing with them to fight for the future of our children.\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">The union has more than 8,500 members in <st1:place st=\"on\"><st1:state st=\"on\">New Mexico<\/st1:state><\/st1:place>.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\n<p style=\"font-weight: bold;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">Update, 11:10 a.m.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">McCamley campaign spokesman Michael Ward released this statement:<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\">\u201cWinning Connections is a good phoning firm, but they do not conduct polls. Anyone who looks at their <a href=\"http:\/\/www.winningconnections.com\/\" target=\"_blank\">Web site<\/a> will see nowhere do they mention polling as an activity they perform,\u201d he said. \u201cI\u2019m not sure why Mr. Teague thinks he needs to make this bizarre assertion about their robo-dial ID calls being a \u2018poll.\u2019 The Teague campaign\u2019s claims that their automated calls are a poll is a little like the Bush administration claiming that a handful of giveaways to ExxonMobil is an \u2018energy policy.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p class=\"MsoNormal\"><o:p> <\/o:p><\/p>\n<p style=\"font-style: italic;\" class=\"MsoNormal\">As I\u2019ve disclosed in the past, I\u2019m friends with McCamley.
